In nature, the concept of a containing membrane is extremely widespread at all levels of organic life. This “boundary surface”, when it does not take on the characteristics of a variously articulated shell, is configured as a skin that envelops the organism, encloses and protects its vital functions and reveals its volumes and forms. This is the basic concept of STRETCH project: identification of a furnishing system that, starting from precise functional needs, returns a fluid and unitary image, in which everything is enveloped by tense and dynamic surfaces on which to let the light play.
